The State of the City is held every January and was hosted in 2012 by SGI-USA at the World Culture Center in Santa Monica.
The Office of Sustainability and the Environment hosted this year's breakfast reception.
Mayor Richard Bloom delivered the State of the City address, providing insights on the local impact of the current global and state economy. Jason Nazar, CEO of DocStoc and host of the popular Startups Uncensored talks shared his perspective on the growth of technology in Santa Monica and moderated a panel discussion on the use of technology and best new business practices here in "Silicon Beach".
